Ralph McQuarrie, was the artist responsible for the sole image of the Ark of the Covenant in Raiders of the Lost Ark. His work appears onscreen in the Bible Indiana Jones uses to answer Major Eaton's question of "what does this ark look like". He was also the conceptual artist for Star Wars.
